Prayer request for Mom

Thanks for being my inner circle of prayer support. This would be too embarrassing to mom for me to put this on a prayer chain or on Caringbridge.I want to respect her privacy.

Please pray for this situation with Mom. I went to Mom's and talked to my niece who is a RN. She said that Mom did not have a good day. Mom's facial expressions and body language all indicated that she was in pain, but she refused to take any pain medication. She said that Mom did not act herself. My niece is wanting Mom to be comfortable, as we all are. None of us want to see Mom dying in pain.... Please pray that my niece can convince Mom to go ahead and take the medication. Mom's strength can be a negative trait when she is determined NOT to take medicine.She is convinced that pain medication is making her constipated and bloated, but her abdominal swelling is due to the build up of fluid caused by liver cancer. Her belly is swollen like she is pregnant.

Mom also needs to agree to getting a hospital bed soon. Mom cannot get in bed without one of us putting her legs in bed for her and helping her push herself up in the queen size bed. Erin said that Mom was so weak that getting Mom in bed was almost too much for Erin to do alone. Mom's legs are so bloated up that she can barely lift them off the ground, so she can no longer get herself back in bed if she gets out of bed to use the bedside hospital commode in the night. Erin said that it may soon take two people to move Mom safely back in position in bed in the night because she is weakening.

I am asking for you to pray that Mom would agree to taking pain pills,that she would stop worrying about the pain pills making her constipated. I am also asking you to pray that we can convince her to get a hospital bed before one of us injure our backs dragging her up into position in her bed.
